Rosaline Muraya
Rosaline Muraya
As Executive Director (Kenya) and the leader of our 5-Year Strategic Expansion Plan, Rosa has more than 15 years of experience and technical expertise leading the development and strategy of programs focused on girls’ education, gender equity, and inclusion across Africa. Rosa’s motivation to advance girls’ education in rural areas stems from a deep personal connection to Njabini, where she spent time as a child, and a passion for empowering girls through education, inspired by her own life’s journey.
Leila de Bruyne
Leila de Bruyne
Leila co-founded Flying Kites in 2007 while a senior at Salve Regina University, and after many years of volunteering in Nairobi, Kenya. Inspired by a growing movement to ignite community-led development, Leila has served as Exec. Director of Flying kites for the past 12 years. Her work has been recognized by the Longines Women of Courage and Vision award, and her writing has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, and The Guardian.
Elizabeth Salvatore
Elizabeth Salvatore
Elizabeth Salvatore is the Chief Development Officer at Flying Kites, bringing over 15 years of business development experience and a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and youth. With a career rooted in social impact, Elizabeth spent the past nine years at Sesame Workshop, where she led efforts to build partnerships with institutional funders, government agencies, and mission-aligned partners.
Her work supported early childhood development programs around the world, helping Sesame’s beloved characters reach children in some of the most challenging settings. Before that, she worked with WaterAid to mobilize resources for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs across Latin America, Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa. Elizabeth holds an MPH and an MA in International Development from The George Washington University and a BA from Lafayette College. Elizabeth currently lives in Montclair, New Jersey with her family. In addition to fundraising, her interests include travel, coffee, and (attempting) the NYT crossword.

Pamela Norley
Pamela Norley
Pamela serves as the Chair of Flying Kites’ Board of Directors and the former President and CEO of Fidelity Charitable, the largest donor-advised fund program in the country. During her tenure, she led the growth in annual sales from $4.5B to $17.5B, assets from $16B to $56B, and clients’ accounts from 185k to 389k. Pamela continues to be a luminary voice in advocating for the power of philanthropy as a Board Member of Foundation Source, Points of Light, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Pamela has served on the Board of Flying Kites since 2020 and has been a life-long advocate for the rights of girls and the power of education.
Vivian Onano
Vivian Onano
Vivian is a social entrepreneur, women and girls’ advocate, and the Founder & Director at Leading Light Initiative. In addition to serving as Vice Chair of Flying Kites’ Board of Directors, she serves as a strategic advisor to government leaders, philanthropists, and the private sector, and is currently an advisor to UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report.
Jarrett Collins
Jarrett Collins
Jarrett Collins is the Chief Executive Officer of the Pan-Mass Challenge, the nation’s single most successful athletic fundraising event, leading all aspects of the organization’s operations and its professional staff. He has been riding in the PMC since 2009 and joined the professional staff in 2019. Prior to the PMC, Jarrett worked for Partners In Health, an international NGO, co-founding and operating their pioneering health sciences university in Rwanda, the University of Global Health Equity.
Jarrett has deep experience in for-profit ventures, too, supporting entrepreneurs as an early stage technology investor for the first half of his career. He earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from Tufts University and his MBA from the University of Southern California.
